Europacolon - Slovenija (Slovenia)

General Progress:

  • europacolon - Slovenija established on 1 November 2007


Awareness Campaigns:

  • In March, 2008 europacolon – Slovenija developed and launched it's unique symbol the 'Blue Ribbon' aimed to raise awareness of Colorectal Cancer
  • In March, 2008 europacolon – Slovenija distributed leaflets and blue ribbons in two key locations in Ljubljana, the Institute of Oncology and the central shopping center
  • In March 2008 the organsiation produced a leaflet on Colorectal Cancer
  • In March 2009, an awareness event at the Institute of Oncology, Ljibujana distributing europacolon slovenija educational materials


Lobbying/Campaigning:

  • europacolon – Slovenija actively contributed to amendments to the health care law regarding nutrition of cancer patients
  • In March 2008 europacolon – Slovenija met with the President of the Slovenian Parliament to discuss issues surrounding Colorectal Cancer in Slovenija
  • 27/3/2008 held a symposium for Family Doctors (GPs) Patients and their relatives on Contemporary CRC treatment in Slovenia at the Institute of Oncology, Ljubljana. The event was attended by the First Lady of Slovenia and Jola Gore-Booth Founder/Director of europacolon

  • Newly produced leaflet on Colorectal Cancer inserted in one of the leading Slovenian daily newspapers facilitating nationwide distribution
  • Europacolon – Slovenija facilitated a press conference and a special 'radio spot' broadcast on one of the main Slovenian radio stations
  • At least nine separate printed media items achieved and extensive radio and television interviews
  • Resources and lack of monitoring a challenge
  • March 2009 - A press conference covering all aspects of CRC in Slovenia, European Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and europacolon – Slovenija
  • March 2009, Radio interview discussing europacolon Slovenija and the objectives of the organisation
  • March 2009, europacolon – Slovenija CRC leaflet inclusión in leading Slovene daily newspaper
