Europacolon – Hrvatska (Croatia)

General Progress:
  • Official launch of europacolon-Hrvatska in November 2008
  • The first developmental meeting was held on the 5th of November 2007 in Zagreb
  • Website launched and developing forum section
  • Launch of offices and meeting rooms

Awareness Campaigns:

  • Representationand launch at the ‘United Against Cancer' event in the main city square in Zagreb in November 2008
  • The main focus for europacolon – Hrvatska has been identified with many difficult issues to be addressed: lack of screening, lack of access to drugs, lack of awareness
  • Key issues identified and recruitment of motivated patients continues
  • A series of introductory lectures to oncology, surgical and GI departments of main oncology hospitals  in Croatia. Supported and presented by europacolon members and doctors
  • Lectures with performers of national screening programmes all around the country
  • Concert planned and performed by Popular Croatian singers to celebrate the completion of CRC Awareness Month - March 2009

Lobbying/Campaigning:

  • Europacolon – Hrvatska accepted onto the newly formed ‘Parliament Section Against Cancer'


Media Activity:

  • Television programme covering 'The Importance of Early Detection'
